A tough weekend for Toyota at the Toyota Dealer 400
It was a really tough weekend for the crews participating in the Toyota Dealer 400 this past weekend in Mpumalanga. The highest placed Toyota team was Chris Visser and Japie Badenhorst, with a podium third position. Visser and Badenhorst were very competitive the entire weekend, and they set the second fastest time in the Friday prologue to determine the start positions. They did suffer problems in the second of two loops that made up the race. However, their result was good despite the loss of power-steering. read more »
Toyota runners make history
A while ago we took a look at David Grier and Braam Malherbe, the Cipla Spar Miles for Smiles runners that are running around the coastline of Southern Africa in order to raise R3.5 Million rand to help give the gift of a smile to children with cleft / palate disorders. The two runners are making international athletics history, having now added the circumnavigation of South Africas 3 000+ km coastline to their 2006 record of running 4 218km along the Great Wall of China. read more »
Swartland Rally : Round up
Well, it's Thursday morning and I'm still recovering from a weekend of hardcore rally watching. It was an amazing amount of fun, I highly recommend it. The next round of the rally will be held on the 17th and 18th of October in Gauteng (I will post details as I get them, but so far it looks like it is in Bapsfontein). I highly recommend you come out and have a look, bring the family, bring the skottel, and make it a day. read more »
Toyota Father & Son’s Cricket Coaching Day
One of the most important things a father can do is spend time with his son. It's a bonding experience that really allows us and our children to grow as people. Toyota understands that the bond between a father and a son is a special one and to that end they are sponsoring a Father & Son’s cricket coaching day. Cricket legend Shaun Pollock will be the host, so this is truly something to look forward to. Although Shaun has recently retired, I doubt his amazing bowling and batting skills have. read more »

The Toyota 4x4 Conservation Outreach heads for home
The Toyota 4x4 Conservation Outreach has reached the final stretch in its 22 day adventure. The Outreach is a joint venture between Toyota South Africa, the Game Rangers Association of Africa, the Southern Wildlife College, Peace Parks Foundation, and the Klipbokkop 4x4 academy.
The purpose of the project is to send a team of rangers and specialists to visit key conservation areas in Africa. The plan is to meet with the managers and field rangers in these areas and assess what the training, development, and management needs are. read more »

The Sunday Times and Markinor have recently released their Top Brands survey for the South African market. Once again, Toyota has proven its popularity by making it to the top 5 for the 5th consecutive year. Toyota made it into the top 3 car brands. The Senior Vice President for Sales & Marketing at Toyota SA Andrew Kirby has said: “Toyota is very proud of the award and we are even more delighted about our brand’s consistent performance in the mind of consumers over the past five years.
